Early Stage
Go Min Si was born in 1995 in Daejeon, South Korea. After graduating from the Yale Beauty High School majoring in aesthetics, she began working in wedding planning to make a living.
Since childhood, Go Min Si has had a passion for acting after accidentally watching a year-end award show. The title of “actor” thus became her goal, motivating her to move to Seoul to pursue her dream.
At that time, she had just arrived in Seoul to establish her career and lacked experience and skills in acting, leading to repeated failures in auditions.

Determined to pursue an artistic career, Go Min Si created a short film titled Parallel Novel, in which she took on three key roles: screenwriter, director, and lead actress.
Fortune smiled upon her as Parallel Novel won the Daesang (the highest award at the ceremony) at the fourth SNS Three-Minute Film Festival, bringing Go Min Si to the attention of many directors.
With a favorable start, Go Min Si appeared in the web drama 72 Seconds as an extra. At that time, since she did not have a management company, she had to prepare all her costumes and transportation on her own.
After the project concluded, Go Min Si received her first paycheck to support her living expenses. She also joined Mystic Story Entertainment and began working as a professional actress.
Go Min-si, 29, is regarded as a member of the “Tae-Hye-Ji of the MZ generation” (Tae-Hye-Ji referring to the Korean entertainment industry’s top 3 beauties Kim Tae-hee, Song Hye-kyo, and Jeon Ji-hyun). She boasts a beautiful appearance and outstanding acting skills. Despite her young age, Go Min-si has starred in numerous notable projects acclaimed across Asia.

Go Min-si’s career now looks like a series of triumphs, but few would guess she had faced over 1000 rejections at auditions. The reason was not her lack of ability or appearance, but rather her lack of a university degree in acting.
According to Go Min-si, she grew up dreaming of becoming an actress, but her parents wanted her to become a female soldier or study to be a diplomat. After graduating from high school, she struggled with career choices and eventually studied economics, becoming a wedding planner. During that time, she constantly questioned her happiness in the job, ultimately deciding to leave her stable career to move to Seoul, work part-time, and take acting classes.
Career

Initially, Go Min-si auditioned extensively, only to face rejection. The actress confessed, “I auditioned more than 1000 times but failed each one. I never gave up. Back then, I was often asked which theater and film department I graduated from”.
However, this only fueled Go Min-si’s determination. She once declared, “I gritted my teeth and resolved to prove that acting is not based on educational background.”

Indeed, Go Min-si proved herself right. From not having a degree in acting, she gradually built an impressive career before turning 30. Her notable works in television dramas such as “Youth of May” and “Sweet Home” have made her a household name across Asia. Last year, she also delivered an outstanding performance in the film “Smugglers”, which became a box office hit in Korea, grossing 96.2 billion won domestically. To date, Go Min-si can proudly claim success in both film and television, with numerous prestigious awards under her belt.

Moreover, Go Min-si has shown prowess in screenwriting and directing. As a newcomer, she directed, wrote, and starred in the short film “Parallel Novel”, which was highly praised for its artistic value and won a significant award at the Three Minutes Film Festival.
